FAQs
Do you bill insurance?
We are an out-of-network provider and we do not bill insurance. Depending on your insurance, you may be able to be reimbursed. We can provide a monthly superbill for you to send to your insurance to get reimbursed, but we cannot guarantee that your insurance will reimburse you. We do have resources available and we would be more than happy to walk you through your options. We do encourage that you talk with your insurance about out-of-network benefits and reimbursement before your first appointment.
What is your cancellation policy?
We have a 24 hour cancellation policy. This means that you need to cancel at least 24 hours prior to the session start time. If you do not, you will still be charged the full session fee.
How does confidentiality work?
Yes, everything you share in therapy is kept private and confidential. Your therapist will not share any of your information without your permission. However, there are a few important exceptions due to legal and ethical responsibilities:
If you are a threat to yourself or someone else
If there are allegations of child abuse or neglect
In these cases, we are mandated reporters, meaning we are legally required to report certain concerns to the appropriate authorities to ensure safety.
If you want your therapist to speak with a specific person, such as a doctor, family member, or school staff, you will need to complete a Release of Information form. This form clearly outlines who we can talk to and what details can be shared.
If you're using insurance to seek reimbursement, we can provide a superbill upon request. Please note that superbills include a diagnosis and may require documentation like treatment plans or progress notes. It’s always your choice whether or not to send that information to your insurance provider.
If you have any questions or concerns about confidentiality, we're happy to talk them through with you. Your trust and privacy are very important to us.
What can I expect at my first appointment?
Your first therapy session is all about getting to know you and helping you feel comfortable. We’ll meet for about 60 minutes and start by going over confidentiality—what stays between us and the few legal limits to privacy.
From there, we’ll talk about your background, what brought you to therapy, and any goals you’d like to work toward. Together, we’ll begin creating a treatment plan that feels realistic and supportive for your needs.
It’s completely normal to feel a little nervous before your first session. Whether you're unsure of what to say, worried about being judged, or just feeling overwhelmed—know that you're not alone. We're here to meet you with compassion, no pressure, and zero expectations. You can show up exactly as you are.
This first step can feel big, but it's also incredibly brave and we’ll walk through it together.
What are the benefits and risks of therapy?
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
